Yukon went to the vet on Saturday for his 2nd round of vaccinations. Starting on Monday his bowl movements started getting softer until later in the day it was all diarrhea. He woke me up in the middle of the night and had to go again, and this time it seemed VERY watery. He also threw up a little bit this morning.

His worm tests came back negative and the vet did de-worm him again. She also put him on an anti-biotic for his soft stool. Yukon also gets car sick so she told me to give him Dramamine before car rides, which did not work.

My question is, do you think it is a reaction to the vaccinations, even 2 days later? I figured if it would be he would have been getting it Saturday or Sunday.

Besides the diarrhea and few times he threw up he is acting pretty normal. I put him on a bland diet and gave him benadryl per the vet’s instructions. I am just hoping this is normal and if anyone else had reactions to the vaccines.

I had a little yorkie mix that acted that way after her first set of shots...My vet said she was allergic to something in the vaccines and we no longer vaccinated her except for rabies.

We gave her bendryl to help with the reaction and it took a couple of days but she returned to normal.

I just called the vet and they said to keep him on the bland diet and to bring in a sample to test for giardia. They don’t seem to think that the shots caused it especially since he got his shots Saturday morning and this did not happen until Monday evening.

I think it could be a whole bunch of different things, the antibiotics could be causing it, or maybe the bendryl or the Dramamine.
