Hi everyone. My guy is shedding very heavy already. Has anyone come across this. Usually this doesn't start until mid-September. We've had really hot weather all summer so far, and except for a few cooler days lately, it's still hot. We're in New Jersey. He's also very itchy. His coat is soft, his skin is fine. I can't figure this out....any thoughts would be appreciated

Sounds like he's blowing his coat. It just depends on the dog on when they start to blow. My oldest started several weeks ago, and I know a lot of members here have had some of their dogs start early this year as well.

It can vary sometimes. My sibe doesn't normally blow coat this time of year but I've noticed his shedding has picked up a bit over the past week. He's not in full on coat blow, but he is shedding a bit more...although, I've noticed this past week the temps have been a little lower (Yay!).

I guess this crazy weather has something to do w/it - his coat doesn't know what time of year it is! lol Thanks for sharing!
