Elmer the blue eyed bunny Empty
PostSubject: Elmer the blue eyed bunny    Elmer the blue eyed bunny EmptySat Nov 24, 2012 4:18 am

Elmer is my other pet! I got him at 6 weeks old and I've had him for about 4 years now. He's a BEW (Blue eyed white) mini rex rabbit! He's neutered and is such a good boy. Loves to hop around and do "binkies" (it's when rabbits get super excited and leap and twist through the air) His favorite pastime, though, is sitting around and looking cute. Elmer's favorite foods are bananas and strawberries. He likes Maya but is a little fearful of her (Generally she enjoys licking Elmer's ears, but occasionally tries to nibble on his delicious bunny fur, so they only get to interact under careful supervision)

These photos are from a few years ago... he's constantly blowing his coat so isn't always the most photogenic fellow. I am due to take some new pictures of him though. I have to dig through photos; I believe I have a few of him when he was just a wee 6 baby bunlet. He's about a year and a half in these pics =) He's filled out quite a bit since then... lil bun is a fatty weighing in around 6 pounds now !

Omg he's soooooo adorable! We had bunny that passed away after only a month of having him. I cried so much. My hubby had never had a pet and I gave him Jordan for valentines day. He was the cutest thing ever! He passed away in my arms Sad

Thanks everyone! Melissa, I'm really sorry to hear about your little bun that passed away. That must have been so difficult. =(

I really want to get a second rabbit. There's a breeder near me that specializes in Blue Eyed White Netherland Dwarfs and "sports" or "vienna marked" Netherland Dwarfs ("sports" or "vienna marked" rabbits are what you get when you breed a BEW to a colored rabbit... they are usually colored with white markings on the legs, belly, chest, and face, and often have blue eyes, by-eyes, or marbled eyes <3) But everything I have read says it's really hard to bond two rabbits when one is older. They say the best match, though, is a neutered male and a spayed female. I'm afraid Elmer will be territorial and try to hurt a baby though, so if I do make the decision to add another bun to the family, I'll probably look into rescuing an older spayed female. But just take a look at these Netherland Dwarfs that this breeder sells... absolutely stunning!!!

Elmer the blue eyed bunny Bunnyblueeyes SOO cute <3 !!!
