PostSubject: Howdy from Texas!   Howdy from Texas! EmptyMon Dec 10, 2012 12:48 pm

Hello!

I have been looking at this site since I adopted Willow a few weeks ago for tips, advice (to see if she is normal lol, etc). Decided to register as it seems like a great community of support, information and fun! She is a handful, but well worth it. I have been a Husky lover most of my life and am glad to find other like minded people Smile

Willow just had her first visit to the dog park and right away a group of 6 adult Huskys came up to her and started playing- clearly they know their own! She was very shy with other dogs, but not with the Husky group.

Willow is loving the weather in Houston today as we have finally seeing some winter weather (50 degrees is freezing to us!) So she is in her element- hopefully using up all that energy so she can take a nice long nap. A tired husky puppy is a good husky puppy!

OMG. She's so cute!

I'm in Houston too! What part of Houston are you at? I'm in La Porte. Smile

How old is she? What dog park do you go to? Please make sure she has all of the vaccinations before you take her! Parvo is spreading pretty fast in the Washington area (I know it's far away, but better safe than sorry!)

If you're close, we should meet up at a dog park some weekend. Juneau loves playing with other dogs. I haven't taken her to the dog park lately (in clear lake) because they have been having break-ins and it gets dark too early!

Thank you all Smile The pic of her was when we just got her- she is now a little over 3 months. The vet said that she was fine to go to the dog park after her last round of vaccinations- he actually recommended it because she is a little shy (she was the runt, last one to go of the litter because no one wanted her Crying or Very sad ) and he wants to make sure she is socialized as much as possible at this young age. I am extremely over protective (I call the vet for every little thing and I use Google WAY too much...just a worried mommy) - so I hope he has not lead me astray by giving me the ok to take her to the dog park!!! I have only taken her once, and she is not too excited about leash training- I just practice in the back yard for now. VintageJeans: I live close to 1-10 and Voss- I took her to the dog park on highway 6 Bill Archer Dog Park Smile would love to meet up anytime- always looking for new husky friends!

Welcome! I'm from South Texas and recently relocated to the northeast! While we've had mild winters, it's still definitely an adjustment to Texas winters. Can't wait to go home for the holiday break!

DanielleCortez: I love the NE- you are going to have SEASONS! Something we miss here in Houston. And I'm guessing your pup will love the lower temps Smile

Yeah, the Spring, Summer, and Fall have been BEAUTIFUL! This winter has just been almost freezing temperatures and rain. I'm hoping for snow in January! We're gonna move back to Texas in a few years, so I'm hoping Kingsley will be able to adjust without too much trouble.

Welcome! We are from Abilene TX. I love Willow's mask! She's adorable! It was in the 20's today! Reminds me of back home in New Hampshire. One of mine LOVES the cold and he can't get enough of it. The other two are WAY too prissy. lol!

Yay for Houston! I'm in Katy Smile This weather has been great, but it's so difficult to get them to come back in! Mine are constantly ringing the bell to go out and I can't tell anymore if they actually have to potty or if they just want to play.
