Posey is my friends boyfriends husky... Posey just turned 2 on St. Pattys Day... I was just talking with my friend about ways to keep her bfs husky in the yard... Typical digging and breaking the fence to get out... For some reason her bf would let him out off the leash sometimes in the front yard, cause he wouldn't always run but I guess since he's been so lucky so far about running off and bringing him home he just thought "it won't happen to me" well he let him out to potty in the front on 4/1/13, he bolted and before he could catch him he was struck by a car in the head and was killed instantly and the driver didn't stop... So I know people are arguing often about keeping dogs on or off leash and I told her its stories like this why I would never let my dog off leash without a fence... Very sad and now her boxer misses her best friend.

I'm always worried something like this will happen to my girls, so i take extra precautions.

That sucks. My condolences to everyone involved.

So sad That's why I always tell people letting their dogs depend on them, they don't know better then to run, it's instinct. They count on us to keep them safe.

So sad. They truly become family and I can't imagine how bad that sucks. It made me so sad I had to get back on after an hour and post here.

I'm guilty of letting Shaqua off the leash, but she's so much my shadow these days that when going from house to car and car to dog park she is right by my side. Makes me think about it...

I can't imagine how bad Posey's owner must feel. Only 2 years old!
