| Does any one else's pup hide food in the couch or under pillows and blankets?
Because Nala does she has been doing this FOREVER she just hides random mouth fulls of food and we will find them weeks or months later under the seats and stuff i find it quite humorous but i was just wondering if anyone knows WHY! haha! |

| Deacon will take a few piece's at a time and put them in corners. Whenever we get back from walks he will go straight to where he left the food and eat it. It is pretty funny, and he never forgets where he put it. |

| My friends's (wpskier) dog Dizzy is a hoarder. He hides pig ears all over their apartment, under rugs, clothes, bed, etc. Link has never done this. |

| So I kind of have a theory of why Dizzy does this. He recently stopped hiding stuff when I switched him from raw back to kibble (for training purposes). I think, it might be, because he feels more satiated when eating raw, and hides his bones/pig ears for a later time. It's instinctual that when they have times of plenty, they hide stuff for times where food is a bit more scarce. Well, on raw, he feels more full and satisfied, so he hides stuff. If I gave him too much meat, he would try and hide his leftovers, which was pretty gross! I think there is a pic in his scrapbook of a veal rib hidden under a toy. Now that he is back on kibble, there is a much higher caloric content in a smaller volume, so although his nutritional needs are being met, he is eating a lot less and feels more hungry. So, he eats his pig ears now rather than hides him. I bet Nala is full, or not hungry at the moment, so she stashes some for later. Cavingsiberian also has a girl that will hide food. Diz has never tried to hide his kibble, but is definitely a hider. |

| Ok, so this is going to be more than gross, disgusting, repugnant...read at your own risk A few weeks ago, Ami managed to get loose - I thought he was in his doghouse, sleeping. When I went to get him for his walk, the tether was at the door to the dog house with no dog attached. After hollering his name for 10 minutes, husband turns around and surprise, surprise, there's the Beastie Boy standing at the back door. Weirdly, not at all interested in any treats for coming home when called. (Though I wanted to kill him for scaring the P*** out of me, I was overjoyed at his return and offered him every treat I could think of ) Over the next 24 hours, I figured out why. He had gone to all points east, west and south of us with discarded deer remains from field dressed deer in the ditches - ate as much as he could, brought it home in his stomach, upchucked it in various stashes around his various tethers and covered it in leaves, snow and sticks. And, he too, remembered exactly where each...tasty ...snack was placed. And was not pleased when I would go berserk when he would dig it up and try to eat it...again. He does the same with all his bones...I'm sure we're gonna' grow a cow or a pig with all the bones he's planted out there So now the Big Boy has 2 snap shackels and a carabiner attached to his collar when outside...seems he has learned how to undo a single shackle snap. How, I have no idea but it has been repeatable! |

This makes perfect sense to me. |

| Very gross but sounds like something Nala would do she likes her frozen poopsicles as i like to call them haha but it makes sense that shes saving it for later because when we would sit on the couch where she hit her treats she would go bazzerk! Luckily for Nala we don't have deer around our area just small animals squirrels, birds, raccoon, possums, etc. which those two scare the crap out of me! |
