This recently started happening and I am starting to get REALLY ANNOYED..

He is peeing and pooping EVERYWHERE IN THE HOUSE! EVERYWHERE!

We seriously just got back from a three mile walk..where he peed...and he pooped. After he finished eating...he pooped!

I don't why he is doing this and it is making me so mad. This dog is A YEAR AND A HALF OLD! He has been here OVER A MONTH, and now all the sudden he is destroying my house.

Why is he doing this?

Not too sure why he would start doing this all of a sudden.

My only suggestion would be to take him to a vet to make sure it's nothing concerning his health.

My mothers 8-9 year old rott mix has recently decided he is allowed to go all over the house he has earned himself more cage time then normal cause he cant be trusted to stay in a room alone for even 10 seconds. Maybe its just an adjustment period for him? Bella didnt stop doing that til this past week when she came home from a weeks stay at my sisters.

But I don't understand what he would be adjusting to. NOTHING has changed since he has been here..absolutely nothing. I am still waiting on vet papers from his previous owner before I was going to take him into the vet, but I think I will just have to take him in and *hopefully* get the papers later.

It is just mind boggling me.

I hate waiting on papers. I was waiting on mine for Link and it was so frustrating because I wanted to make a vet appointment and neuter appointment and I was just like 'gimme the papers already!'. I was worried because I didn't know what shots he had/needed. I was right to worry though, he never even got his puppy shots until September with his first owner and he was born in January. Also I was told he was born in November of 2011 but the medical records confirmed January 2012. Hope the situation with Ares gets better, you should be alright to take him in once at least for a health clearance to rule out medical issues and just explain you're still waiting on his medical records from the previous owner ^.-

Also with what Katie just added - Link's been with me about a month and never exhibited any signs of toy or food aggression with my pups and today he's had several outbursts of hoarding the toys and saying 'mine'

Do you know for certain that he was housetrained in his previous home?

Also, they say that dogs don't always exhibit their "full" personalty for several months in a new home. It could be that he's just coming into his own.

I was just going to suggest this. Karli was an angel for the first week we got her, then all of sudden she was pooping and peeing in the house and we couldn't figure out why when she hadn't done it before. It could be that he's more comfortable now and that the settling in period is over. Also remember too, he's young, he could be testing you to see what you'll actually do if he doesn't listen to you.

It sounds like he was most likely not potty trained very well. You may want to start sticking to a new routine for him to adjust to, like taking him outside after every time he eats. You could even try going into retrograde and get him some puppy pads and lay them out in every room he goes into, see if he will go on those, and then gradually move them closer to the door.

Eh, I don't do puppy pads. They work great for some people, but I don't use them. Thanks for the advice though!!

It seems he was going through some sort of relapse due to stress. I think Sheba is getting close to another heat cycle, which I suspect is the culprit. She has been extra bitchy lately and the other dogs are walking on egg shells around her. I have been treating him like a puppy again; taking him out every couple of hours and I have been baby gateing him off with me so he has no access to the rest of the apartment. This has also helped.

I'm starting to look for his forever home, so I'm trying to get him as close to perfect as I can. He seems to be very in tune with my emotions and senses stress very easily. I'm going to Vegas in a week and a half so I have been stressing trying to get everything perfect. He is a very emotional boy. It's kind of cute Smile.
