2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. When blazer and I go for walks neighbors or children usually come up to say hi ect.. Lately he's been nipping and growling at them even ones hes familiar with. He nipped at a lady's pants the other day. When children come up he growls and his growl sounds like a monster to begin with. I've never herd anything like it b4. Ill even tell parents to not let their kids just run up to him but it happens. Either way I look like I have a mean aggressive dog..Hes fine at camp& he loves the dog park. So How do I stop the nipping and growling ?

That's a tuff one. How old is he? The main issue is liability if he ever took it further. I am not a fan of muzzles, but I would strongly consider one if you are walking him when there are kids running around.. for his (and your) protection.

He's 11/2. My neighborhood is full of kids. I'm the only 1 wo them. And there a playground , sports field across from my house. They also walk around the neighborhood so I try to walk on the other side of the street but its hard when ppl wana stop and chat or the kids running up. I don't want any repercussions due to blazers growling and nips. Not everybody is a dog person..

Oh, I didn't realize he was more advanced in age. If this is new behavior, you might want to have your vet check him to rule out any medical issues. Sometimes they get like that when their sight and/or hearing are starting to go. I hope that's not it!

You say there's a park near your house...the kids don't walk by the fence do they? Karli loves people, especially little kids but the neighbor's kids always poke their fingers through the fence at her and she barks at them all the time. Them and only them, she doesn't bark at any other kids. It could be that they tease him when he's in the back yard?

In my neighborhood the playground, and an open field where the kids play sports so that's a pretty busy with people.Using the sidewalk around can be difficult. At the same time there's families taking walks around the neighborhood ,kids running around ect. I don't think he's doing anything to be mean he just wants to rump around and play.his growl does scare ppl and he's reacting to them. I'm also holding the leash tightly all of that doesn't help his behavior.

Oops, I read it as 11 1/2 Embarassed though it still wouldn't hurt have rule out any medical issues.
