So for the past like 4-5 days Okami has been slowly getting worse and worse. She started having mild diarrhea and mild puking in the beginning, to where yesterday morning, evening, today morning, has been getting worse, seems to have some lethargy... I thought at first it may have been a simple ,"Oops! Something didn't sit right, Mom!" But now it is giving me concerns that it could be something more serious. I am thinking and hoping it is just a bad dehydration problem and nothing that is crippling. We are taking her to the animal hospital right now... wish us luck

We didn't get what we needed today it was more or less a huge waist of time...... SO.... we inevitably have to go to our Vet tomorrow and get it taken care of, But just to give you a run down of Okami, We went in to the Animal Hospital (because our Vet is closed on Sunday) They did the exam, and then were like hey, this is not your credit card? (My fiance's dad's card) You CANNOT pay for the service without him here(Which we are able to do so at our normal Vet).... (he was in Eaton Rapids) So you have to pay the 80$... We were like well with the fact that you guys said we cannot use his dad's card, we can only pay you like 25 bucks... so Vern's dad is going into pay the 55$ that we owe for the huge waist of time, and they are referring their prognosis to our Vet for us to go there tomorrow. Oi!

Well, at least you know it isn't "life threatening" or they would not have sent the results to your Vet for a later date.

Sounds like where ever you took her is more interested in getting their money than the health of their patients... I hope she's okay. And just because they're sending the results doesn't mean anything. I work in a vets office, if you go to the emergency clinic we get the case results regardless of the outcome because its our regular patient.. having said that, I'm not sure how it works where you're located. Anyways, Good luck and I really hope she feels better soon! .. Did they give her fluids or medication or anything?

No they did not give me anything except some papers telling me to start her on a bland diet for the next few days and after 4 days to slowly ween her back to regular food. They were "Supposed" to give her and X-ray and some blood work... but no they only thing they did that I could not have done without looking up on the internet, is take her temperature, check her vitals, and stuck their finger up her butt and made her scream to say their was no bowels there. That is what 80$ costs today I guess.....

Talk about bad luck. How is Okami currently feeling? Her normal excited happy go lucky self is toned down to a really fine point, which suggests to me right there, that there is something wrong.. I had company over last night, and normally I would not be able to leave her out of the crate, she just slept in my bed while there was new people around. (COMPLETELY unlike her.) However I do see spurts of normal behavior, it just doesn't last long. |
