Hi welcome I am also from Des Moines Iowa, great to have you here.

I think maybe the age at which you got Diego is putting people off that might be why nobody has said anything.

Hi there and welcome!  wave

Please don't be offended by the lack of responses. Members might have time to read through the forum through the day, but maybe not respond right away (like myself, I read this post earlier). Also, this is a public forum, so maybe people who aren't even members might have seen your thread. The forum has also been a bit slow (i.e not a whole lot of posting/comments).

David is right about you getting the pup earlier than you should have. You generally don't pick up your puppy until it's at least 8 weeks old.

Anyways, you pup is cute! Are you sure he's a hybrid? He pretty much looks all husky to me, but I'm no expert lol.

Welcome. He looks very cute. I think on this forum it sometimes takes a little bit to get a response.

I agree on looking full husky. I am not seeing typical wolf features except that you mentioned a yellow eye but I am no expert either. Smile Is he really big?

Well i got my boy at 5.5 weeks from a lady that breeds them. Yes she wanted me to wait cause i had been asking for him since before born haha. The mother got very sick am wasnt in shape to feed the pups. I have worked hard an long with Diego an he is a strong boy. Well idk i never seen other huskies around here so im not sure if he is really big. He is bigger then his best friend who is half pit half chow and almost two months olders. Weight is at 31 lbs and only 4 months old.

Im no expert thou i did see the mom she was fairly small compared to other females she had and she had who she said was the wolf dad separate from the others. He was very big and had two yellow eyes and just looked different from the other huskies. Yes honestly im no expert either but Diego is fairly big i think. The pedigree she never gave me she said it would be extra. She could of lied to me not sure but she swore he was.

He is pretty either way. There is a weigh in thread that shows husky weights over time. Mine was about 35lbs at 4 months but he is bigger then standard and a rescue so I have no papers. I think I mentioned just as some breeders do pass off huskies or husky crosses with other dog breeds as wolf hybrids. Also I think many here may get a little nervous about hybrid topic too.

I think you may have been scammed by a backyard breeder but I do not think there is enough info in the thread either. I also do not want to offend you in anyway or make you feel unwelcomed. Things like letting you take the pup home too early and no papers are red flags. Then some byb scam people into thinking they are getting a wolfdog. This is where I am no expert but things like your pups ears, paws, and narrow head scream husky to me. But then again I am no expert and we are all here to learn. Part of me hopes you were scammed as I have read many negative things on owning wolfdogs mainly how unpredictable they act as they get older. But I cannot sit on a high horse as I myself have an affinity for hybrid cats.

Hi and welcome. I kinda thought the same thing when I saw your pup. He looks mostly husky to me, but he's so young it's hard to tell how he might change as he grows up. I'd be curious to see pix of him when he was smaller and brown. Do you have any pix of the parents? Smile

Unfortunately I never thought of getting pictures of the parents. I am actually trying to contact the lady that sold us Diego to see if I can get the paperwork. I seem to have lost her number and she lives almost 4 hours away. She told me about him being born brownish but I started to realize its a lie because at 5 weeks old I met him an he was white like he is now with some caramel on his head lol. I dont care if he is wolf or not im glad he is in my life thou.
