| Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.

| I showed it to my breeder and she thought it looked more like scratching a sweet spot. She seems to be doing alright today so maybe it just took a while for the drugs to get out of her system? I'm not sure..... We will find out tomorrow. |

| UPDATE:
Journey hasn't had any episodes for over 24 hrs. We went to visit the vet and they gave the all-clear for no e-collar. They advised me to watch for any future episodes and record them in a journal but we are hoping she will be fine now that the Rimadyl is out of her system and she is no longer in the e-collar. |

| Still no episodes! Which makes me really happy... although if it was in fact a reaction to the Rimadyl it makes me wonder. From what I have researched Rimadyl doesn't necessarily "cause" seizures, but rather lowers the threshold for which they occur... meaning that a dog that has them on the drug would already be prone to them. As long as she doesn't seize anymore I'm a happy camper... I don't think I will give he Rimadyl again though...just to be safe. |

| That's interesting, but I'm super glad to hear no more episodes. If you ever need to put her on pain meds again, be wary of Tramadol as well, it lowers the threshold too. | I don't use any flea medication. I do bathe them (not very often, though) with Summerwinds "Take a Hike" Organic, Natural flea & tick repellant shampoo. They are on heartguard and have been for a while and tolerate it well. |

| Ok cool, a lot of the flea/tick meds are neurotoxic and can induce seizures as well. We just switched from Trefexis to Sentinel for that reason, but we'll need to add in some sort if tick repellant.
