I'm in the market for a pet vacuum, what does everyone use to pick up all that hair?

I use a Dyson DC41 Animal Complete (which they've replaced with the DC65) but I know that the Shark is comparable and isn't as expensive.

We use a simplicity. It has two settings, one for wood floors and tile and another for carpet.

I love my Kirby G6 and could not live without it even though I changed my whole downstairs to wood!

When I stayed at Meredith's I tried out her Shark vacuum. It's similar to the dyson's but less than half the price! It worked really well on both hardwood (with attachment) and carpet. When mine dies, and it will die at some point, I'm going to get one of those.

Something that also works on wood would be fantastic! The hair clings to my hard wood like a magnet.

Dyson!!!!! Best pet vacuum ever. It has great suction... it has a canister instead of bags... the one I have has a sleek stair design so it fits snug on stairs without falling.... we had a kirby before we picked up the dyson.... i wouldused to have to go over a furry area like 10 times, and there would still be some hair... then we got the dyson, now it is the first to second swipe over a bad furry area. I have not gotten one to try, but dyson also makes a pet attachment for brushing.

I have the Dyson Animal. I love it. It was a gift back in 2007, so I've had it for 7 years, and it is still going strong with husky fur and my long hair.

Is there really a difference between this vacuum and the shark NV22S?

I'm not sure, but the one you linked to on overstock is chordless, and generally I've just found they aren't as powerful, and don't hold up over the long term. I'd look up both on amazon and read the reviews. Smile

So my vacuum just died a few days ago, and per some of your recommendations, I went for the Shark Navigator.

I have to say, it's pretty awesome! I can't afford the Dyson animal lol, but this one is pretty fantastic. I didn't even know how much dog fur was still in my carpet!

Good to hear cause that's the vacuum I'm saving up for.

I was gifted a Kirby G6 about a year ago. I love it, it will pick up almost anything. Another thing I do to help keep the fur and dander down is change my air filters monthly.

Just got my shark and steam mop delivered. I absolutly love both of them. I was amazed at how much more it picked up then my old vacuum. I had to empty the cannister after only doing half of my basement. Well worth the investment!  Very Happy
