What we thought would be Dakota's retirement pull turned into a new personal best pull AND a Working Dog Excellent qualifier pull- Total pull 920lbs

Wow - 920 pounds affraid

I'm laughing - 2 days ago we went to the ski area with Ami. I wasn't skiing (cranky knee, iffy conditions) so was walking Ami. When we met up with Wayne, on a whim, I took the ski poles and Wayne held the leash (I switched to harness) while I ran and called to Ami. Who started to follow and stopped, yup, stopped and looked annoyed, at the first hint of pull on the harness Rolling Eyes

What really gets me is how satisfied the dogs look when pulling.

To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I consciously stopped after he pulled 920 we had nothing to prove, he had already beat his class competition, and we always leave on a positive note! Dakota is definitely in his element in harness, he just can't do the team running anymore-

Congratulations, again.  The boys look handsome in their medals - is that Denali with 1,2,3 medals in sequence?  Would make a nice collage with the last larger, centered and overlaying the others...

A proud Mama, I'm sure!

Dakota, our old timer, is actually the tri-medalist Smile Though we are super proud that Denali earned his first medal this year too!

They look like they are wearing their medals very proudly. They look great. Dakota is proving that one really can get better with age.

Congrats!! Two beautiful boys, and I am so glad that Dakota has found work, lol, I imagine it's hard for older race dogs to continue doing something, since they are so used to working, yet have so much mileage on their bodies. I think Dakota has found his niche, and it's so great seeing him beat the younger ones. I'm in awe with him......Danali, is a great up and comer, he is just a fantastic all around husky....you are so lucky!

Thanks all we are just so pleased with the boys Smile

Dakota was never truly a racing dog. His structure would never allow for distance. He is just too short coupled- but that actually works to his advantage in weight pulling Smile it was more about finding him an appropriate outlet for his drive to suit his body type.

Denali is finally finding his groove in weight pulling and we couldn't be more pleased to see him excelling in another sport!
