| Hi Everyone,
After using this forum for information for a few months, I decided that I should join! My name is Adam and I adopted my husky from a shelter last April as a graduation present. His name is Kashtin and he is a two year old male. So far we have tried bike joring, hiking, boating (he didn't care to swim much), and recently after the snowstorm passed through the Midwest we tried sledding!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning a ton!

| Thanks everyone! There is no way I would buy a dog when there are huskies that need rescued. Kashtin was there for a month all because no one could walk him on leash and it only took us a week to figure that one out! He came fully trained with a ton of tricks and house broken as well.
I'm from the Quad Cities area. Where are the other people from Iowa/Illinois from? Anyone know if there are any groups around Iowa for bike joring/urban mushing?
Pictures to come soon hopefully if I can figure out how to upload them. |

| I am located right where IA, IL and MO meet along the Mississippi, so roughly a few hours south of the Quad Cities.
From where I'm from there is nothing, which sucks a lot. I'm sure people look at me crazy when I'm out with the dogs in harness lol

Sorry, I don't know about any groups for biking. I graduated from Assumption in '08. We use both the Davenport dog park as well as Crow Creek in Bettendorf. I've heard of one in IL but we haven't tried it yet (mainly because he gets too excited in the car). |

Pictures to come soon hopefully if I can figure out how to upload them. I live in the Quad Cities too, in East Moline. Just moved there about a year and a half ago. I was big into mushing before we moved, but I can't find any unpaved trails that are big enough to fit the dog sled. There are some nice trails on Sylvan island, but its usually pretty busy with walkers and bikers during the summer. I did take the scooter out there a few times last winter, since we had no snow, but not sure how this winter will pan out. Bikejored at Sunderburch park outside of Davenport, it was okay. I've been spoiled with awesome trail systems in Wisconsin, so I'm picky about where I run! |

| Hi, I was wondering if anyone in Iowa could help me figure out how to do Urban Mushing. I plan on getting a Husky in the future, but would like to try out this sport with my parents Brittany Spaniel while I wait. Would love to meet with someone in Des Moines, but can look into traveling to learn this sport. |
