Sorry about your news. If you want a puppy, but can't find from a great breeder . . . I used PetFinder. I was ok with risks of rescue (no health check, etc) and wanted puppy as I have cats. So I just checked every day. Lots of cute puppies needing homes. Got Loki around 12 weeks and Ichigo at 4-5 months, but they go quick particularly if they appear to be purebred huskies. With Loki I even picked him up from a farm where there were farm cats who knew how to handle puppies. It may or may not be option, but at least for me it was better then BYB.

Yeah, we hadn't really ever seriously considered rescue because of our cat, but now that he is gone I may look harder into that option.

I'm sorry Sara! I remember when we were getting Nala and we had everything set up and last minute they told us we couldn't get her for whatever reason, and I just cried and cried but then it ended up working out.

So we have a new prospect. Karnovanda has a 4 month old male they have kept around to keep another pup company and socialization. They will be ready for him to go home by June when we are in Michigan, so we are going to try to meet him and pick him up mid June. One of the owners said he is one of the sweetest boys they have had.

I think he looks like a little bear, so we were trying to think of a name that means bear or something. Maybe we are getting ahead of ourselves thinking of names since we've had a tough time.

He's beautiful!!! And so are both of the parents! Kohdi and Mishka are not Karnovanda but both have a lot of Karnovanda in their lines. All the dogs I've seen from them are SO beautiful. Congratulations!!!

Sara he is sooo cute! I hope this time it works out for you. And just think about it, he'll be half way potty trained when you get him. I'm so excited for you. Karnovanda produces such lovely dogs. Keep us posted. If you do get him, he'll make a lovely compliment to Bode.

I am definitely ok with an older puppy in terms of what our lifestyle calls for. It took some convincing on Anthony's part though! Keeping our fingers crossed for this guy. At first I wasn't so sure because I'm not a big fan of open masks, but now I can't stop looking at his cute little face.

I think we may be considering the name Logan for him. It was one we tossed around with Bode and it wasn't quite right. But I keep calling the new guy Logan in my head and it fits. Plus Logan=Wolverine, which is kind of a bear, right? lol

Bode is named after Bode Miller, the ski racer. Our girl name we had picked out stuck with the racing theme, but Anthony didn't like any of my male name ideas that stuck with that theme.
