Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Bandit freaks out. Starts whining due to excitement. Trying to find a way to escape to get to whoever is outside. The worst is when it's a person walking a dog. People she does get excited too. The other family who has a 6year old husky. Oh boy when she walks by you'd think I was chasing her around with a belt she whines so loud trying anything to get outside lololol it's so funny how She gets really hyped up.

So what's your stories? How does your dog react to people or dogs passing by?

I can't say how Ami responds when inside because he can't see anyone from inside (when he's in and in the room that has windows to the street, it's dark and usually between 10:30 and 2 AM.)

But I can speak to when he is outside contained with the invisible fence - he races along the fence line, parallel to the road, in full attention. He never barks, once in a blue moon will give a brief "woo - woo".

Now - when Archer arrives, it is a conflagration. Wooing, scrambling, bouncing, leaping, no holds barred - it is a joy to watch!

I will note that before my son got Archer and before Ami was allowed to run, first in the backyard and then on 4 ish acres with the invisible fence, on our walks, if we saw another dog (or person, for that matter) he whine, fuss and get all hyper. Now that he is getting lots of play with another dog and is allowed to roam free on the property, this no longer happens. When Archer is not here, it takes 2 days to recuperate and he sleeps - I have a lovely, apricot fur rug:lol!:

Keno is like Bandit. He whines and cries and makes a complete spectacle of himself. Kenzi lunges and growls and tries to eat the offensive dog.
