Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| So lovely little Logan has decided to enter the "traditional husky puppy" phase and chew lots of things that aren't his. We never had this problem with Bode, so I'm not sure how to handle it. The few things Bode did try to chew, all we had to do was tell him "NO!" once and he knew it wasn't his. Doesn't work with Logan. lol.
He's crated during the day, so that's not an issue. It's more like in the morning when I am still asleep and Anthony is in the shower getting ready when they are out. Is it just a puppy thing or am I doomed? |

| I am experiencing the same! My fisrt Husky Smokey never chews anything... you can leave her anytime and leave all toys even with her, but Tsunami my puppy has a deep love for chewing up everything!!! I'm guessing it depends on the personality...but like you I hope it will pass after puppyhood :-D |

| I had/have this same problem with Koda. Little beastie chewed up 5 iphone chargers and countless other things..... R.I.P. cables..... Everyone has said she will grow out of it, but I have heard people say you can spray stuff with hot sauce or some other stuff, but I don't think an apartment that smells of "eu de la hot sauce" is an appealing idea... I've just resorted to locking everything away that is important to me. Hopefully someone who know's what they're talking about will reply for both our sakes. |

| Probably...maybe. Ami wasn't much of a destructo (he never had a chance, was outside or in his crate) but Archer?!!? I thought my son was going to murder the dog, commit Hari Kari or something. THat little beastie boy chewed/dragged/shook/destroyed anything and everything he could get a hold of. Today - I mostly trust him in the house without a whole lot of supervision. But he is now about 17 mos old...you may have a ways to go At this stage, I think "puppy-proofing" is your best defense. Next to the crate. EDIT: BY "house" I should say, in the kitchen and laundry room. And I scan for enticing objects/food before I leave the room. |

We have done extensive cleaning up and puppy proofing, but he just gets creative! Recently he has decided to claim the blanket for the couch...Not something I would have thought to remove. |

Ain't it the truth!!! Archer got the table leg, the door frame to the bedroom closet...the throw rug in the kitchen...etc, etc, etc. I finally told Josh, tether him to you on short leash. If not, crate the little bugger. Really, he is soooo much better now. I strongly believe in gradual increments of freedom as they show proper behavior. Otherwise, you could drive yourself insane. Just remember...this, too, will pass. Usually |
