2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Don't worry, summer exercise is a thread that never fails to come up EVERY year. You won't be the only one asking (or thinking about it)...trust me! Even now it is pretty warm in FL though, especially south FL. Be mindful of the heat and read your dogs signals and body language. Huskies are the type who will overdo it with exercise even in the heat so it's important to know when they've had enough time outside and need to be brought back inside. Use your judgment, never ever shave a husky, always have shade and cool water available, and try to limit walking and exercise to the cooler parts of the day such as early morning and evening (before the sun comes up and after the sun goes down). I like to tell people to imagine going out for a walk or run in the summer heat with a coat on, it won't take long for you to overheat at all. Kiddie pools are a big hit with most sibes in the summer as a means of playing and cooling off. Wink

Oh a lot of people have done it either so that they don't have to deal with the shedding or because they think it will keep their husky cooler. In actuality their coat protects them from sunburns on their skin and it also helps keep them cool in the summer like it keeps them warm in the winter.

Hi! Your pup is a doll!
I live in Alabama and, in the summer, we are just careful to walk early am before it gets hot. We play a bit in the yard but not for long at a time. Lilly likes to splash in the kiddie pool. Indoor games are great in the summer. Hide and Seek is fun. Zoomies around the house is a favorite, though she doesn't do that as much now that she's older. Fetch down a long hallway, training time with teaching UP onto surfaces accompanied with OFF and puppy pushups (stand, sit, down, sit, stand), and tug are all great ways to burn off some energy.
