Hi Im Jennifer. I already introduced myself once but somethings have changed. My husband and I are no longer getting the husky puppy we thought we were getting. His name was Dante. Sadly he got really sick and passed away. I was sad but understood how he got sick. The breeder was not a responsible breeder and let the puppies and mother and her other dogs suffer with fleas....lots of fleas. My husband knew I was excited to get a puppy so when we found out Dante passed away he quickly searched for a better breeder. With the help of some local husky owners we found a better trusted breeder. We will be picking our boy up on the 12th of Feb. We haven't picked a name for him yet but we are thinking Konor. Ok just wanted to "update" everybody. One more week and we get our baby. Very Happy

Aww. That's horrible news about Dante, but I am glad to hear that you have moved on and found a better breeder. "Konor" looks adorable! I hope the waiting period passes quickly! I can't wait to see pictures Smile

Welcome to the forum (again Smile )

I don't know how it works elsewhere, but the local humane society here actually has an "Animal Cruelty Task Force" that works with the local police as well. They investigate all sorts of things from puppy mills and backyard breeders to negligent owners, abandoned pets and animal hoarding. I'd say contact your local humane society, and if nothing else I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.

That's how it works in my area too. There is also an ASPCA website you can search by city, state.

Thank you both. I hope I can find some body around here that will help. I felt sorry for the puppies when I heard they were sick and dying. She had 8 puppies and only 4 lived one barely lived. She got mad at us because we said no to taking the other male puppy that lived since ours died. Then she got mad again because I wanted the deposit back.

WOW! I just don't understand not wanting to do the best for you animals. Why even have them??? Grr.... a part of me wants to become an ASPCA officer but I don't know if I could do it and stay sane. I'm so glad you decided to go to another breeder, what if the other one died on you after you took him home? That would be so heartbreaking. Hopefully you will be getting them the help they need by turning them in. Please let us know how this goes if you are successful in reaching someone.

There are those breeders out there that are just out to earn a quick buck. A GOOD breeder is one who cares for their animals, they get involved with activities with their Sibes and are active in the local animal community.

When searching for a Reputable breeder the firts place you should go is your local Kennel Club, AKC, UKC doesn't matter. Every club has a breeder referal program. If your local club doesn;t have or know any Sibe breeders you can always look for a regional specialty club or the Siberian Husky Club of America.
