| I doubt she will be a wooly. The breeder you got her from should have easily been able to tell you if she was a wooly or not. I don't see it in your pup but you only show one pic.
It's my understanding that both parents must carry the wooly gene to produce a wooly. The fact that your pups mother is not a wooly, does NOT mean she doesn't carry the gene, however. Going by her short coat, I'm going to guess she doesn't have wooly in her genes though. That, and from the pic you show, I don't actually see the tell tell signs of your pup having wooly traits.
"Wooly gene" is really just a recessive gene, however, both parents must carry the gene for longer hair to produce pups that have the longer hair. |

| I hope you left her with her mother until she's at least 8 weeks old. Did is too young, still a lot of socialization with mom and litter mates, particularly bite inhibition. |

| There is a possibility you could get a partial. This is Vlad one of his parents were wooly. His mothers mother was also a wooly. He is a partial wooly or plush or whatever you want to call it. His sister is not wooly but she is a bit plush during the high shedding season. Vlad is most "wooly" at the britches and the flank. He has really dense fur at the britches that even a groomer says they keep waiting for it to "release" but he definitely does not shed like my other huskies. As you can see in the "footer" or signature picture he is not a full wooly. Brush lots, use a rake and a high velocity dryer, to assist you. Red in foreground is Vlad |

| Put her in her crate while you mop. She is 6 weeks old, she doesn't understand discipline yet, she won't even really know her name.
I have 2 plush Huskies, not wooly, and as puppies, looked more like your pups sister. I think yours will have an average length coat |

| I would let her drag a leash around and when she gets too close to a person eating or tries to jump up step on or grab the leash and pull her down with a firm NO. It will take time but the goal is to make sure she doesn't get food, which is essentially a reward for begging or stealing. You can also give her her own something to chew on in her crate while others are eating and leave her crated until everyone is done, then let her back out to socialize. As you begin to work on training like sit and lay down she will likely start reverting to her "bag of tricks" when she sees people eating. Nothing In Life for Free training (NILF) is a good one to look up and is a training technique that will produce a very nice mannered dog. _________________ |
