Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.

Good morning? 😅
I currently have an approximately 2yr old husky male unaltered, no chip. He gets along very well with my almost 1yr old BC cross with Louisiana Catahoula spayed female. She has been loved and seen a vet since we got her, regular vaccines, monthly treatments for flea/ticks/heart worm. This male has been treated for fleas thru oral medication. Ive always loved how huskies looked... but up close I've only know my friend's older husky who had spinal surgery.
This guy is a love. Good around my obnoxious pup, and my kids. He's just really thin. Bones are poking not just palatable. He's eating well with a mix of wet and dry. But not the vaccume my pup is. Ive noticed' despite my pup being on the heavier than I would prefer, that the husky is a picker eater, and if he eats the smallest amount of grass it can make him sick. She however can eat grass like it's a side salad😬
I am more than willing to care for him, vs taking him to the shelter. Just seeing there are far more layers to the husky😁husky - Newbie with a found husky 20190714

Good on you and welcome to the Sibe life!!

Husky feeding is always a bit tricky since they can be VERY picky eaters. A good trick I know though is to really tire them out with a long walk and some intense rough-and-tumble play! Huskies have a weird thing where they can regulate their metabolism depending on their activities... More movement would mean they gotta eat! More eats mean more gains!

As thin as you say this dog is it is hard to say what his diet has looked like for the last while. It will take a bit for his stomach to come back around. Stomach upset and sensitivity are normal things to deal with when first getting a dog that has been on the road. I would suggest adding a probiotic to his diet for a while to assist in making the transition to regular feedings of a more balanced food a little easier. Huskies are picky and prone to food sensitivities as well, but until he's been in a stable environment for a bit it's hard to start saying whether he's sensitive to the food you are feeding or still just detoxing from whatever he was picking up earlier.
