Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

On Monday the 16th Loki crossed the rainbow bridge. He was the one constant that got me through several moves and a divorce. He passed just shy of his 12th birthday. I knew his time was coming up with how often he was in the vets office for diarrhea and vomiting over the summertime. My son knew something was going on but my daughter kept it in until we all were saying our goodbyes.

My condolences on your loss. So many here have passed in the last year or two, all of them cherished family members.

Having had to put down a couple of my own I know the feelings - why can't he live forever? I'm sorry you're having to feel those pains ... as has been said here many times, the memories live on forever, make the ones you remember the happy ones . _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford .

Hi - I'm a relatively new and infrequently visiting member, but I saw your post and had to say something. My husband and I have had several pets together over the years, and each time we lose one it's so painful. And the most beloved and cherished are the most killer to lose. Besides our kind of recent addition of Hucklebearie (the stray, young, 75 pound husky who came into our lives about 1 1/2 yrs ago), we have two older dogs. I know their time is coming, and it's - again - incomprehensible, inconceivable that we could lose them within the next few years. They are such a part of our lives and have helped get us through some really tough stuff (my husband has had a lot of serious health issues that have left me as his caregiver for nearly the last decade). I can't imagine life without them. I don't know what comes next, but I hope it's good and that our babies go there/do that too!!! Sending you hugs and hoping you find another sweetie to love and be loved by - that's the only cure I know for the horrible pain of losing a furry best friend and family member...

Very sorry for your loss. Although I did not post here too often this was the first place I came to when we got Finley in 2013 and we lost him in 2022. It's a rough thing to go through and we send you all much love.

So sorry. Our boy is 6 and a half and with his seizures we know any day could be the day we have to say goodbye.
