Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.

Oh I hope sue ets her husky back. Wish I heard the full story from her, as others say it sounds like she did just leave him, but after how long of trying to get him down?

Eddy how bad was the route she was on? Have not had a min too look into it?

Eddy- I'm curious... if this happened to you, what would you have done?

I am the first person to admit that we can't pass judgment since we were not there... but I don't know... I CANNOT imagine EVER leaving one of my dogs on top of a mountain. I'd laso him and drag him down broken if I had to. I dunno. Strange, but I hope the dog returns safely home.

First of all, just from what I see in pictures, my dogs would never head up that thing. Hard to say what the hell went on up there. I've been searching the Elk Range for over a year looking for something over 13k with a simple (possibly safer) route. That range definitely has its own character. A loose rock and crumbly surface layered in scree seems to be the norm there. Personally, my group has no business on those peaks. Particularly THAT peak. It doesn't look like a terribly difficult standard route, but we still have no clue what route they took. It could get sketchy real fast.

He was found in the same spot yesterday. The site with the complete story is a pay site, so we may never know. Jack has climbed couloirs several times before and has a bunch of class 3 stuff under his collar. Just a freak incident that required her to get down for some reason. Good thing he had a built in bivy!!!

Doubt it. She apparently posted a super detailed account of what happened on 14erworld.com and folks there started reposting all over the place but refused to quote her story. I think when the commenting got in full swing we were destined to never know the whole thing (it's all up to her now). She doesn't even have a login at 14ers. The guy who made the thread barely knows her.

I know I wouldn't go posting details on the internet.
