| Thought it might be fun to start a thread of videos for huskies playing (sorry if I overlooked a current one). The questions from husky newbies and non-husky folk are always asked "do they play rough", well lets have a unscientific video poll. I'll start with my 3 boys. Sebo the wooly, Mikko the referee (talker) and Blaze the big husky / mal mix.
Sorry about the motion blur I only have a droid x for taking video currently.

I have so many videos of my two playing rough, but
this is one of the best ones. I got a little scared there towards the
end...LOL!!

I try to encourage them to play outside like in snrose's videos but they seem to choose the smallest most confined places. Then one gets the "zoomies" and there goes the sofa. |

I can't stop laughing! I totally know what you mean! My house isn't too big so when they start running and jumping on sofas I open the sliding door so that they can chase each other in the yard. The second they go out they are done playing and the eating grass begins. I let them back in and they're right back at it. I don't get it..LOL! |

When I first moved in with my parents and Bruiser, this playing scared the pants off of me and I was already used to Frankie's rough play. I called my trainer to come over and observe their play for input on if/when to intervene. It turns out that Frankie and Bruiser know each so well and how far they can push each other and when to stop. The only time I really intervene is when it's getting on my nerves  Many times they have a toy that they are playing tug a war with. Frankie will pick up the toy and dangle it in front of bruiser's face to lure him into play mode. Oh and just ignore my son, he's playing a video game in the background. |

| Pitbull/boxer mix.........as far as we know he's 50/50. At least that is what the "owners" that dumped him and his littermate at the vet said. My sister took in his littermate and a friend of hers took bruiser. When the friend realized he couldn't keep Bruiser, my mom took him in. It was said to be an "accidental" breeding.

Yeah, that would've made me concerned too! Heck, when Ginger pulls/curls her lips back and bare teeth when she's playing with Storm, I still sometimes will intervene so she tones it down a little. I just don't want it to escalate even though it probably won't. |
