| 65lbs, Tori, not 55. Koda is 53lbs and 23.5"(max height) at the shoulders. If he is between 22-23 inches tall that's normal too. I wouldn't say he is big, he's where he's suppose to be. I always consider 45 small for a male, 55 average, 65 at the max, obviously beyond that is beyond standard. |

We'll meet in the middle AKC says 60.. there's been debate on here at the actual "max standard height" for a male. Places say anywhere between 55-65... I've heard it all Though, I think we all agree though that Max is standard, and at the high end of it too, _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I always thought it was 65. I guess I just don't consider them big unless they are in the 60's.. regardless, he isn't small, lol. P.S. Lisa, wrong Koda owner |

| Now, I have BIG husky! And even after all his weight loss, I would not have met a bigger husky than Storm! _________________ |

| I would definitely say Max is for sure a mix, and I still stand by Akita with his snout, shorter-curling tail, among just overall appearance. I don't know if you could even say he for sure has husky in him more than just a general spitz look. And Duke, 100% husky, no wolf, no doubt. He'd have to grow several inches to even strike me as a hybrid at all. His legs are even shorter than my Koda's and his face is just has no characteristics of a wolf dog other than your average husky or mal. |

| Thanks goes out to all of you for helping me to clear that up. I just wasn't sure. Better to be safe and get many second opinions lol. although for the record I don't agree with anybody that says Max isn't a husky |

| Max looks off, but I wouldn't say he has no husky in him. His snout is a bit off and so is his chest. Doesn't mean he's not a husky, but I wouldn't bet my life or anything on him being 100% husky.
Duke looks full husky to me though. I don't see any wolf in him at all. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Max isn't 100% Husky, he certainly is mixed. Duke is certainly all Husky- he looks as if he was shaved pretty regularly prior to you having him or he's older. Just from looking at the coat. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| I guess you could call him a Husky since that basically means a northern breed of working dog. Now a pure siberian most def not. Still cool in my opinion |

| yes Duke is older he is 8 and we have to be able get him comfy with us brushing around his tail and on his belly cause he doesn't quite like that at the moment. As far as duke's story goes for most of his life he was an outside, solitary dog so all this with us is pretty new and he seems to be adjusting well. Only bad habit really is chewing on stuff lol |

| Duke definitely looks pure husky. Max definitely looks mixed and I think we discussed that a long time ago on the other forum too. Looking at Max's structure alone, he's definitely not breeding quality even if he were full sibe (and he definitely doesn't look pure) and would most certainly not contribute positively to the breed. _________________ |

| yeah we probably won't end up breeding max but at the moment we can't afford to have him neutered either so we are careful to make sure he doesn't run off. |

| Check out Friends of Animals or call your local shelter. They offer low-cost spay and neutering sometimes as low as $75.

| Ya, our shelter and other organizations offer low or no cost spays if you can prove low income. Do a google search on low cost spay "your city name" |
