| ... but I have to ask. Do your dogs burp or "pass gas" frequently? Appa sure does. Always has. Usually it's small, but the dude can let out a belch every now and then. It's really quite hilarious. The gas is usually when he's running up the stairs, but sometimes when he's just laying there. Tonight it was like a pneumatic brake system purging. I can't help but laugh (i'm a guy, what can I say?)
Just wondering if this was a commonality in all the sled dogs or if we got an extra potent one. |

| Koda burps and it's always very loud and obvious, and he frequently lets a toot out(most frequently when being picked up/jumping off bed, but every once in a while he will just be sitting there and one will sneak out). Rogue doesn't burp (yet) and farted quite a bit when we first brought her home but I have only heard her do it maybe twice since we got her stomach settled weeks ago. I had NEVER heard a dog's fart or seen a dog burp prior to getting Koda. |

| Embry farts all the time when he's getting off the couch, Zoey does rarely, but she burps all the time, usually if she eat or drinks really fast. |

| Mylo, would burp after every meal. Mylo & Biko are/were backend tooters. Adobo though must be to lady like she does neither. |

| Sabaka will often eat and then come over to us and kind of "burp on us" or "burp at us". It's hard to describe.
He was passing lots of potent gas when I was letting him chew rawhide. Now if he has something like that to chew on, it's pig hide or a nuckle bone... A bully stick will even cause a little gas.
Maybe it's what he's eating... |

| Jack we never hear a body sound from him. Sierra is a burping girl its so funny. And she will lay there and u hear this small fart and she looks at u like what was that! But like Lisa she will sometimes walk over to us and just burp at us! Funny sled heads. I would say if the gas smells bad its a food issue. Sierra never smells unless its a new treat that maybe did not settle well then u smell it _________________ |

Is there an exception to this rule? Willow has had gas issues since day one of bringing her home and let me tell you they are potent! I always get up and check to make sure didn't actual poop, it smells that bad! She has done it on all three foods I have tried her on. She went from Beneful to 4 Health to her current food TOTW. |

| Mindy, most times there is not an exception. have you tried changing the meat source of the TOTW? what one is she on now? i told my friend to change her dogs food and she went to a grainfree food and his farts were much less and not as stinky, her boyfriend thanked me as he could not take it any more! _________________ |

| She is on High Prairie. It does happen less often than when she was on the other foods but I'm willing to try a different TOTW to see if it helps it even more. |

| maybe try the Pacific Stream, salmon on the next bag. all the other flavors are a meat base but that one. i rotate all the flavors with jack and never see a change in his stools. some huskies just can't handle the red meats or chicken. _________________ |

| Thanks Jen, I will try the pacific stream and see if it helps.
Melissa, I feel for ya if both of yours are that bad! Luckily Dakota rarely farts, or if he does, you can't smell it. |

| Ghost is most definitely not a lady! She can let a belch that would make a frat boy proud and Riley, just like Appa sounding like a pneumatic brake purging we have that problem too. A lot of time it's when she's sleeping and stretches out, but sometimes we'll be sitting around or playing and we'll hear the little escape of gas and she'll just look at us like "wasn't me!".

| My sibe only ever farts when he eats scrambled eggs or certain grain inclusive treats. If something gives him gas I stop giving him the offending food and we almost never have any gas issues with any of our dogs.
My sibe occasionally will burp once when he finishes his dinner. Getting rid of the air he swallowed while eating. But otherwise none of my dogs ever burp. Both burps and farts are fairly rare at our house. _________________ |

Mine always had pretty bad gas on High Prairie, I put them on Sierra Mountain recently and we've had no gas! |

| Bodhi's on TOTW Pacific Stream. No farts! He does burp, but it's from drinking water too fast.
My vet is very knowledgeable about sibes. He told me that historically, huskies ate dried fish. He thinks that fish always should be part of their diet. |
