| I hear this all the time. The reason I don't is because Bodhi is my third husky. I've had some very bad experiences with the other two running away when they were off leash. This video is why. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeO-8kmwVkc&feature=feedf |

| I have one who, for a while (as an adult) was fine off the lead in certain places, if he was with his girlfriend!
But once he got used to being off he became less and less reliable, and he runs up to other dogs which i dont like him doing, so now he's on a flexi-lead when we're in the woods or by the river.
My girls I would never let off, they are both total hunters and nothing (apart from working) comes above chasing a furry thing for them! |

| Libby would see a leave and run after it, not to mention if a rabbit or chipmunk ran past. No way. Why risk it. What are people thinking. I've seen just how fast she can be in a fenced in yard, much less on the loose. I have a friends mom that keeps trying to get me to have her loose, and she doesn't get it. Very frustrating, so we don't go there much. |

| Yeah, what a moron that he didn't grab her at the end of her run! She was just catching her breath.
My first thought was that he was driving with his dog and came upon the moose running down the road. He thought it would be cool to video his dog chasing it so he opened the truck door. Then things went downhill.
I don't think Eva is evil at all. She's just doing what huskies do. Of course, I could be completely wrong. She could have broken out of a secure yard and the owner has been desperately driving around looking for her. I can relate to that sense of panic then.
I live in a rural area outside the city where the large animal I have to watch out for is elk. We have come upon a herd once and a single elk another time. That is surest way to turn a husky into a flying fish. They dolphin in the air trying to get at them. I shudder to think what would happen off leash.

| There is nothing evil about it, this dog just followshis instincts. The problem ist his son of a b.... people like this guy should have no dog, no Husky and no other breed because they ar enot responsible I let Anubis off the lead when he wa syounger, but when he entered the adult stage it was always 50/50 if he would listen, and a dog that is not reliable off the lead has to stay on the lead. There are Huskies were it works but I neve rmet one . But to stay true 95 percent of all dogs shouldn´t be off the lead because most dog owners are like this person in the video above. |

| That. Was a friggin' MOOSE?! Yeesh!
I'm sorry, if Aevyn got off his lead somehow, was chasing a MOOSE somehow, my first reaction wouldn't be "I'm going to get this on film." It would likely be along the lines of "OMG friggen MOOOSE" followed by the panic of me thinking I wasn't ever going to see my dog again.
Even with Aevyns low prey drive, he'll never be off lead without being in a secure area. |

| Haha...I wasn't expecting a moose when I clicked that! I'm sorry, but that was pretty funny especially when the guy started cursing. He was an idiot for not grabbing her at the end, but who's to say how she got loose in the first place.
Jennifer, why do you think her paws got cut up? *Never mind. I read the info below the video. Poor girl. |

| I live in a very rural area. I'm sure i'm setting myself up to be lambasted here but, I let Jaz run off leash only with a shock collar. Hardly ever ever have to use it anymore, but it's there if something happens. I can even call her off deer most of the time. She has a very good recall. I don't let her off the leash in town tho. |

| Oh my gosh I too was one yelling at my computer "GRAB HER COLLAR YOU IDIOT!!!" that poor dog. I would be balling my eyes out and having an asthma attack from being so upset if this were my dog. |
