| Appa is food aggressive with other dogs (he's an angel with humans). Apparently at dog daycare today they handed out treats because it was a pup's birthday. Appa attacked another dog over their treat. Nothing serious happened, all dogs involved are fine.
We've seen him do it before ... twice. He's only ever had food around another dog before, twice. How do we correct a behavior that we never really experience? Any suggestions on this one? |

| Just curious, is he still allowed at Doggie daycare? I'm worried about putting Willow in daycare becuase she hordes toys and I'm afraid she will steal from the wrong dog. |

| Without having another dog to work with frequently it's hard, Odin had this problem initially. What i'd be more concerned about is them giving out cookies in front of all the other dogs like that... I know at work we don't have any food around the group of dogs at all for that very reason. We don't do toys for the same reason. If they have individual toys/food they are given them separately away from the other dogs. In all honesty I don't blame Appa, I blame the daycare. _________________ Cheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! Zoey does the same thing. She takes stuff from any dog she wants to, Embry lets her get away with it, but she's been attacked before over it, and I'm so afraid of bringing her to day care for that reason. |

| Oh yes, he's adored there, he's still allowed to go. The daycare is really great and he absolutely loves it. I thought it was strange of them to do that too, based off of all other previous experiences, it seemed not like them to do that.
I suppose for now we can live with it (seems how it rarely ever is a problem), but when dog #2 comes around we'll have to work with him.

Dakota always let Willow get away with it too! I was hoping he would teach her manners. He did protest once and she laid down and stared at him until he wasn't looking and took the dang toy. Of course he just let the second time. |

| Chili's the same way - and they're very careful with treats at day care. They keep an eye on him and correct him if he gets too interested in other's treats or try to distract him. I give our 2 treats together but keep 1 on either side of me and correct him if he tries to get hers. It's not his fault - it's theirs. It's been four months with Frosti now and it's getting better - he knows not to try to get her food. |
