| Hello everyone! I haven't been on here forever! I am back home visiting from college and my husky stays with my parents. I was so excited to see her she is so big! But that is not the point haha.
She is CRAZY she has an obsession with her tail. When she gets bored or really excited she just runs in circles chasing her tail! it is so weird and its sometimes impossible to get her to stop.
Does anyone else's dogs do this? Is this normal? |

| Mine doesn't chase her tail, she just eats it.
I heard that it is sometimes an anxiety thing.. |

| is she getting enough exercise?
i know the tail chasing is really common in shelter dogs because of their anxiety, is there anything that would be making her anxious that you know of? |

| I know she goes for walks and is in our back yard a lot running around, I am sure she gets good exercise. You think our other husky might cause her anxiety? I know our other husky is 5 years old and she is getting mean as she ages. They do not care for each other at all they snap at each other and fight really bad. You think that might cause it? |

| It could be the cause of it, I'm not really sure, I've never had to deal with it :/ Hopefully someone else will chime in with some more information.. |

| Does she look like she's in any pain? Elara started chasing her tail cause her anal glads were blocked up and giving her pain. Took her to the vet to get them expressed and she's been fine since. No more tail chasing. |

| Nanuk chased his until we got Sisi. I think he was just bored. You say you leave for college and come home to visit.....could maybe be anxiety caused by your coming & going? Mika had anal gland problems, but we definitely knew it caused her pain...she cried, or should I say SCREAMED when she went potty... There's a lot more info on behavioral issues available now...I am sure if it's anxiety, a behaviorist will be able to help you out! Good luck! |
