Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. | Mylo use to eat any part of the deer that I did. Often times he received it raw but in hind site I wouldn't do it that way any more because of possible parasites. Use to give him the leg bones also but you need to keep an eye on them with the bones even raw they splintered quite easily. I ended up cracking the leg bones with a hammer to dig out the marrow for him talk about a happy dog give them marrow. Good for them too.
Antlers also are good but again careful once they get smaller as they could easily be swallowed and require surgery to remove them. |

| Do you know if you can just freeze the meat to kill any parasites? _________________ -Sara |

| The understanding I have is that if you freeze it at least 30 days then it should be safe for raw feeding. |

| Yep, they can eat just about everything from a deer. Freezing will kill off parasites as stated but do be sure it's for at least a week if not more. I've never heard that it needs to be frozen for 30 days, the numbers I usually see is about 5-7 days or so to ensure all parasites are killed off. _________________ |
