Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Kashi's Sudden Urinary and Fecal Incontenence Empty
PostSubject: Kashi's Sudden Urinary and Fecal Incontenence   Kashi's Sudden Urinary and Fecal Incontenence EmptyFri Mar 02, 2012 6:52 pm

Kashi is our 5 year old neutered male Sibe. About 7 weeks ago, we noticed that he was dribbling urine when marking during his walks, he had no other symptoms. 4 weeks ago he defecated in the house. This was very strange behaviour for him as he has never had an accident in the house nor did he even try to alert us to go out! He has been the cleanest dog we have ever owned. He grooms himself on a regular basis and always cleans his feet after being outside.

The urinary dribbling and fecal incontenence have continued and are now accompanied by a slight robotic stifness to his rear legs when being healed on the lead. When running or walking fast, he is fine and there is no interuption to his steps and his gait is fine.

We have taken him for blood work, urinalysis and xrays of his back. Everything came back normal. We were then referred to a neurologist and they performed a spinal MRI which also came back normal. Our vet and three other neurologists are stumped and yet our poor boy is getting worse. Have any of you ever experienced something similar with your Sibes? Please share, all thoughts are welcome!

Sorry to hear about Kashi's issues and I hope they get it figured out. Wish I had the answer for him, but I don't have an experience with that.

Good luck
