Hi all. Our male husky Coby has only been with us a few days. Were guessing that he didn't get walked much by his previous owners because as soon as his lead is on and were out of the door, he pulls. Now I know huskys pull anyway obviously from their background however he gets over excited when another dog comes along. He practically dragged me around the field yesterday. My partner struggles with him too. I really want to walk Coby and our other husky Mia together but need a way to keep him under control. Can anybody recommend a harness that actually works. I've been loads of places that are just feeding me all the cr*p just for a sale. Thanks xx

We use a Ez walk harness on both of my huskies when walking them.

I use the following lead when walking both I fasten my first husky to my waist. You can adjust it fo fit around your waist. By attaching my first husky to my waist and am able to spend time working with the second husky who needs practic walking still.

Thanks alot Linda/John. With the Ez harness, how much pulling do you get? Obviously im expecting pulling if he gets enticed by something cat/another dog etc. But general walking how is it?

I still get some pulling but the ez walk harness seems to help because it is connect in the front at the chest and not on the back neck.. I still get some pulling but not near as much as with a collar or a reqular harness.

Sasha currently has a harness, but it clips in the back. I have been looking at a front leading harness also. I was looking at both the EZWalk and the Walk Your Dog with Love. There is about a $10 difference, the EZW being the less expensive option, however the EZW looks like it is a pain in the butt to put on, any input on that ?

We just got a Wiggles Wags and Whiskers No Pull harness for Bode. It has the EZ walk style front clip, but then it also has a Martingale style back clip. It's pretty simple to put on, which is helpful. It comes with a two attachment lead so you can have them hooked both at once, but I haven't found that necessary. Our pup wouldn't stand for a harness around his chest. He chewed thru 2 of them so we just bought him a regular collar. But pulling is a problem still. My mom got us a different type of harness that goes under and around his back legs. We tried it on him last night and although he still can't stand a harness, it was a little easier to control him.

I have both of these harnesses and they are identical in design. Go with the cheaper one.

I've got a question on the sizing of those. Stella measures out at about 24" on both the chest and neck @ 4 months old. Their medium is ranged from 22"-28" and the large is 26"-32". The medium seems like the better fit but I'd rather not have to purchase another one in the near future if she outgrows the first one. I've gotta get her one of these. I'm worried she's gonna do some damage to herself with the pulling. I like that these have a clip on the back as well as the front of the neck.

Also, WW&W was apparently bought by 2 Hounds Design in 2009. They make them when ordered and have all the colors available, even a "jellybean" multicolored option. They're a bit higher ordering direct as opposed to amazon, etc., but they do offer a coupon code (knowitall) for 10% off.

I had the EZ Walk and now use the the Wiggles Wags and Whiskers harness. Pretty much same design with the front attachment point but a lot higher quality. I would go with one of them.

Yep. I have posted the wiggles wags and whiskers harness. Its solid and sturdy but I truly don't think it helps pulling. Ultimately I beloved harnesses are built for.pulling. I use nylon chokes and they walk very well.

I havnt used them yet because it's quite hot out, but I'm going to take her and the boys to hte park tomorrow. When we get back I'll let ya'll know how they work for us.

Just received the WW&W harness in the mail today and I'm pretty impressed. I know it's just the first day out on it, but there's a HUGE difference in our walking already. I'm pretty shocked actually. Stella hardly pulled at all. In fact, I was even able to let the leash loose during our walk without her jumping too far out ahead of me.

When use talk about pulling do use mean excessive pulling nearly loosing traction or just as the lead goes tight? My pup is quite good and normaly when he feels the lead tight he stops for a split second until it loosens but most of the time he walks beside me. do u think i would still need this type of harness?

Of course we don't have our Husky yet but we did have a Lab/Husky mix. We was a puller and Lord was he ever strong. I tried all kind of collars and harnesses and nothing worked. I finally called a trainer and she told me to try a halti. I couldn't believe the difference it made. He was a new dog. He hated it at first and would rub his nose on the ground to try and take it off but once he new that halti=walks he was fine.

I know a lot of people don't like the halti but if you use a shorter leash and of course work on training him to walk and follow commands it works just fine. My dog was never injured in any way and we used it for years.

I don't have a positive recommendation but instead I have a "stay away" suggestion. I bought a yuppie puppy no pull from Walmart and it broke while on a walk after about a month. Piece of you-know-what. It also never stopped the pulling but was basically a regular harness. I'd just hate to hear anyone on here say they bought one because they may be best for smaller weaker dogs....

Frosti chewed through her Walk Your Dog with Love harness in a day or so. <sigh> She has a heavy duty one regular one from Petco now, with a ring in the front. When she's too rambunctious, we attach the leash to the front ring, which approximates an EZ walk.
