PostSubject: Heyo, I'm New   Heyo, I'm New EmptyWed Oct 10, 2012 4:20 am

Heyo, my name is Jess, I am new to this forum. I decided to join because I have two new husky puppies.
Bandit - 7, 1/2 months old
Luna - 5 months old
Also it is the first forum I have found that doesn't turn down or look negatviely on the idea of having huskies as pets. I think they are the most amazing of dogs.
It is very nice to meet you all. Very Happy

Welcome to the forum, They look great. Huskies start as pets, and then become furkids. Some are working dogs, but all are furkids. Can't wait to see more pics of them

Thank you all so much for the welcome messages and compliments! you all have gorgeous babies yourselves! Sorry it took me so long to answer to your messages I was away for the week in Scotland with no internet.
I was going to ask, if this is okay, I was hoping to properly exercise my puppies when they are about a year old by wearing skates and letting them drag me, ^^; now my two babies are not very obedient lol how would I train them???
going to practise on the skates first myself so I know my own brakes XD

Several of us rollerjore with our dogs, and the dogs love it. This is my thread on rollerjoring, and it has some great information. If you search around the Great Outdoors section of the forum there is quite a bit on roller and bikejoring, and it's perfectly ok to start with your pups when they are around a year old. Just don't do it much before that.

Now that it's finally cooling off again here, I'm thinking about taking Ghost out to the paved bike path in town and rollerjoring again. We haven't been since about May Smile

lol awww ghost looks lovely XD
and thats great thank you for the information! I was thinking of waiting until they are a year old just because I need to practice with the roller blades myself before I decide to attach a very powerful pooch to me XD
does it calm them down alot?
yeah the weather was quite warm this year I took bandit and luna the beach and the only thing stopping them from cooking was the sea =S
how long do you normally rollerjore for????

I started with pretty short distances and worked up from there. We've gone as high as 2 miles, but I think we'll probably go up from there as long as my ankle can stand the skates for that long. Besides getting comfortable on skates, it's best to wait til right about a year otherwise you could damage their joints by too much impact.

Good luck!
