| Welcome to the forums. How to Potty train your puppyCheck out the training section for other posts or members going through the same issues and what worked / didn't work for them. There is no one way or right answer. The best way is to find what works for you and set your pup up to succeed. That being said starting on pee pads can make the process a bit longer in the end. Best of luck to you, ~Chris~ |

| I'd say stop with the pee pads; it ultimately teaches them that it is okay to pee in the house, which makes it more confusing for them when you get upset that they pee in the house. Like Chris stated above, it can make potty training much slower. Stop the pads and take her out every couple of hours. After napping, playing, eating, etc. |

| I agree about stopping the pee pads - they confuse the dog. We never used them and they seem an unnecessary expense when it is quite straightforward to train them with consistency.
Since she's only 3 months old she should be taken out very often and praised when she does her business, so that she gets the message that the only acceptable place to eliminate is outside. We took Kaya out every 20-30 mins the first week, so she got the idea very quickly. They definitely need to go after eating, napping etc, but you'll find that they can urinate quite often between all these activities too.
