Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hello my name is charlie.

I am a semi-new husky owner (grew up with them but this is my first time owning one... or any dog for that matter) gracefully stumbled upon this place while searching for ways to curb some of my boys little... shall we say undisireable quirks. everything i found has really helped explain thing's in a way books and wiki pages couldn't so figured i would register so i can share his cute and goofy moments and talk about some of the other frustrateing ones as i go through this expirence for myself.

a little bit of info about me and my awesome little guy!

my husky (have yet to name him, im terrible at names... will probably end up being boreing and nameing him junior) is a male copper in color (i think... looks more orange at times when the morning sun hits his back... other times kind of grayish.) he's going on 11 weeks old now and he's so much fun, enjoy his company so much that i keep finding myself wondering why i didn't get one sooner.

Anyway, i didn't rescue him or get him from a breeder or a pet shop/mill/backyard. saw an ad in the paper last week while on lunch break of a guy needing to rehome his puppy that day otherwise he was going to have him put down... apperently his son was allergic and the pup was chewing everything. so i grabbed him up, so glad i did! he does chew stuff but he seems to stop once i offer up his favoriet toy racoon or his duck. he also seems to be best friends with my land lords wiener dog.

a bit about me, im 26 (27 this month wooh, go me!) i live on the jersey shore (no not the tv show, and no i dont have one of those terrible hair cuts). i do remodeling work with my dad... works decent... not my favoriet though, working on becoming an art teacher.

I first fell in love with huskies when i was about 13 (i was initially scared of them... they reminded me of the bad guy in the balto movie.. i know it's kinda sad to be scared of him at 13 but hey what are you gunna do ;P) but once they tackled me and licked me to death we where best buds... use to go skateboarding together and i'd wrestle with them in the backyard... ah, such good times. ever since then i always wanted one (i enjoy energetic loving playful dogs).

( lol! as i am typeing this i looked behind me and my husky was sitting with his butt in his water bowl stareing at me with his tounge hanging out... must be play time!)

anyway, nice to meet you all, see you around.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find a name for the pup. We picked Kerian name based on a character in a book we enjoyed reading.

LOL, I read this first as "I do modeling with my dad!"

Anyways, thanks for giving the pup a second chance and working on his less desirable habits so he can be set up for success! Welcome to the forum Smile
