1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I have had Meeka for about a month now (currently 3 months) and I have given her a bath every 2 weeks. She likes them but I hav mainly done it as when I clean my fish tank she decides she wants to go in for a mud bath where I dump out my water.

Lately my allergies have been bothering me and I believe it's due to having two dogs and the build-up of dander. I've always been fine with one but with the second I think it's just a little too much. There's no way I'd ever get rid of my pups so I decided to deal with it.
Have you looked into an air purifier? I have cockatiels as well as Karli and they give off a lot of dander (so much so that a breeder in FL had a collapsed lung from the amount of dander her tiels gave off) and one of the things she recommends is an air purifier, it really does help with allergies and HEPAs are really good.

The breeder bathed Karli the day we picked her up. I rinsed her off a couple weeks after that with a hose because she got muddy. And the hubby bathed her once when she got super muddy. Other than that we have stuck to washing her paws in the sink and wiping her down with baby wipes then letting her dry off in her kennel. She does a good job of cleaning herself too.

We're supposed to bathe Bandit this weekend, but honestly I have no idea when we gave him a bath last. Probably a couple months ago. We used to bathe him every few weeks when we first got him, but there's no point to doing that anymore. He keeps his feet clean though

Mishka is getting a little stinky already. He only had a bath the day we picked him up from the breeder (Saturday) and he likes to roll around in the wet grass when I take him out to potty. I think I'll try feeding coconut oil now to help his coat and try to only bathe him once every couple of months unless he starts getting stinky.

Where do you get whitening/brightening shampoo? I didn't see any at the pet stores (Petsmart/Petco). I'll try looking on Amazon.
