Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Yeah, just kidding; it's wicked cold here.

I somehow came across the forum a couple of months ago and have been poking about from time to time (I am such a sucker for a set of cute dog pictures), but I decided to introduce myself! I'm Allie, and I am the proud human of a super awesome basset hound/German shepherd mutty mutt named Herbie and a sweet as can be Siberian husky, Amara. They are both six years old and great pups. (:

A little about them (I'll try to share more about Amara since this is a husky forum) : Amara loves showing off her squeaky toys by waving them in your face, swimming, long walks on the beach (and everywhere else; I am a dog walker, so my kids join me in lots of fun walks with canine friends), and rolling in dead things. What a lady. She also loves to give kisses. She's a pretty quiet Sibe, but we've recently been working on "speak" and she does join in when I make howly sounds or if other dogs are talking.

Herbie is a Canine Good Citizen/therapy dog and Amara is next up! We've been very busy and haven't had time to train as much as we'd like, but we plan on it after our next move. Herbie is currently a "reading dog," and I think Amara would do great in hospital visits.

I love taking photos of my dogs, so here's some photos (I can feel I'm about to go picture-crazy; apologies in advance). Unfortunately, I'm stupid and don't have any of the few photos I took of Amara as a puppy readily available (I wish I'd taken more, 'cause she was really cute!). But there's no lack of adult pictures to share. Wink I do have a picture of her when she was still very young and darker (interesting how much their coats can change). It's the first photo.
