Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Vegeta chews on everything. I don't really mind cause he's a pup and I know its what they do but I meant EVERYTHING. The metal legs of my chair, my comforter, my pillow, the trashcan, ME (A LOT), everything. As I said, I don't mind now cause he's all of 8 pounds and even though his baby teeth can sting it's nothing killer. It's just every time I go to pet him he things I'm a chew toy and go to bite me. I tell him no when he bites something I don't approve of. As I write this he is chewing on the metal legs of my chair (which worries me cause I don't want him to hurt his little teeth? Is that silly? lol). Anyways, I tell him no and put a toy in his mouth. Is there anything else I can do or is this a give it time type of thing? |

| Is there a reason why he's already with you at 1 month? There's a lot of things puppies learn from their litter mates in the 6-8 weeks range that teaches them when to stop biting when playing with each other. It's not impossible now, but it will just be a bit more of a challenge. Stay consistent and read the threads posted above. |

| Thank you for the other threads, I'll give them a read through! I guess patience and consistency are the key for this.
I got him so young (I got him at 6 1/2 weeks) because the breeder was moving. She had already sold all of his liter mates and they were gone by the time I went to visit him up at 6 1/2 weeks. I had expected to be able to wait until 9 weeks because now wasn't the best of times, but I've carve out a lot of extra time for the little guy. |
