I have a 2 1/2 year old male husky that I love dearly. But since having a baby a few months ago and working everyday take up most of my time, Hank doesn't get all the attention and time he needs. It's not fair to him that he is sort of being punished because of the way my life is. I really hate to do this, but I think it's better if I find him a better home with someone that can give the time and attention that he deserves. So I am looking for some advice on how I can find him a home. We are located in eastern Ohio and he is AKC registered. I just don't want to sell him or give him away to someone that doesn't know what they are getting themselves into, as far as how much energy they have, the attention they have to pay to him. I just want to try and find maybe a breeder or someone that knows huskies. Please help!

I would contact some husky rescues, I think Howl At The Moon is in Ohio, and ask them for some help in finding a forever home, and until then you could continue fostering him? Whatever happens I wish you the best of luck and hopefully more advice will be sent your way. It's always a tough situation being town between your babies and what's best for them.

I'm no expert but perhaps place a craiglist post and do "interview" type calls and make your decision that way. A personal friend would be ideal since you already know the person and can still visit your dog once you get more time,

Tell us more about him - people here are always looking for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.......... there are husky rescues in almost every state - try them BEFORE craigslist I think.............

Thank you guys! I looked up Howling At The Moon! He is very lovable. Always excited to play and be with someone. Not aggressive at all. We also have a boxer and he gets along great with. My profile picture is one of him. He has been an inside dog except for going outside for business. Like I said he is AKC registered.

Yeah I would not suggest CL, everyone goes there for a cheap dog without actually thinking about the responsibility.

Try and see if the rescue will list your dog for you on their petfinder as a courtesy post.

You can also try "rescue me". It is a website that has a specific page for every breed. You look around on there and see if you like it. Much safer then CL..at least in my opinion. They also have a Facebook page.

http://husky.rescueme.org/

I also second having a rescue courtesy post for you.
