Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

We are considering the possibility of a second husky! This is the dog that prompted the discussion:

We had "the talk" Scout10

http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/24988396

I sent an email to the foster asking a couple questions. She said normally they only do in province adoptions (Ontario), but sometimes they make exceptions. I mean, our location in Michigan is probably closer to them than some part of Ontario.

Anyways, I sent an email to our landlord asking if she would be open to us adopting a second dog. She has a couple concerns and is going to talk it over with her husband, but says she is in favor of multiple dog households.

We're still not 100% positive we are ready to take on a second, but Bode is at a great place with his training, and he just does so well and is so happy when he has another dog to play with. I filled out the *10 page* adoption application, just in case, but haven't submitted it yet. The foster said he's never met cats face to face, which could be a concern. But anyways, just excited that we may have even started to think about this. A little nervous too, though!

Sidenote, any members in Ontario know anything about this particular rescue organization?

He's a cutie! I would definitely see if they can cat-test him before you make the haul over there, but that's my .02.

I don't know the rescue organization in Ontario, but I'm giving you a 'bump' in case others have missed it. Smile

Thanks Jackie! Yeah, it would definitely be ideal to see how he does with cats. And it's not all that bad of a drive for us actually. Only about 4 hours.

He is absolutely adorable! I hope everything works out for you! I think once you have one, two is nothing. I'm trying to get the boyfriend on board for a third, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen. hahaha.

You can ask the rescue if possible to try and introduce her to a cat or bring her into a cat room at the shelter. Thats what they did for us when we got Ripley as it was a key issue.

Kelly, I sent them another email this morning with a few more questions and asked if it would be possible to see how he does with kitties. They took a little while to respond last time, so we'll see. Still waiting on final word from our landlord anyways.
