Being 5 months old, we have Kai on a short leash for loosh leash training, but when she's older and we are able to hike, I want to get a good, durable leash for her. What would you all recommend? I took a brief look on Ruffwear, but really don't know the difference between a lot of the types of leashes. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

I like ruffwear, but not a huge fan of the limited color choices. I love lupine patterns, but not a huge fan of their snaps. So what I would recommend is (if you like the patterns) to get a lupine slip lead like so:

And then get your own locking carabiner like this:

And attach it to the o-ring of the slip lead. Not sure if its something you're interested in doing, but its something I thought of for us who love lupine but hate the gate-style snaps.

AH. Megan, I LOVE this idea! I was trying to figure out how I could take off the regular snap on a leash and add a locking carabiner, but couldn't think of anything. SO smart of you!

Yup, I unfortunately already had 5 lupine leads by the time I thought of it. Wondering if lupine will let me exchange them..

Or you could do this with tubular webbing, a carabiner and two overhand knots at either end.

I use Ruffwear Slacklines on all 3 of my Sibes. I love them, and their clasps are great on that leash, and the collar as a handle is super convenient.
