Well i have so many questions as to what really happened and what this "bite" looks like...the kid was in the cafeteria with FOOD and a DOG never a good combo, how they hell did the dog get in and all the way to the food with no one seeing it?
i also want to know is if the owners ever walked him or just let him run in the back yard. it sounds like they tried but they could have done more.
to many questions, im wondering if our rescue will step in and take him....

Aw! Poor guy! His run is tiny. Glad they are going to try and re-home him, I hope a rescue can step in. He actually looks like a sweetie, just stressed. Sad

Didn't you listen to the video? his run is massive. lol!  I kind of think also that a dog that went into a school was looking for attention/people and possibly got to much to fast and got scared. He seems to be a very nice dog, just maybe doesn't get enough attention.

Perhaps if the dog was adequately exercised...

Ugh. More bad press for Siberians that could have been completely avoided by responsible owners. And I highly doubt it was a "Bite" in the sense that most people think of as a dog bite, but they don't elaborate on that.

I have to imagine that if an adult Husky truly did attack and bite a child that the child would in fact be "seriously hurt."

If we all created a public educational workshop about the breed my piece would be called "The difference between biting and teeth-on-skin: what you need to know about how Huskies interact with the world around them."

I'm in total agreement that the saddest part of this story is how preventable it is.

Ahh this is so sad! That living area is way too small for that dog! They said he's been escaping for a year in a half, so I'm assuming he's less than 2 years old, so he's just a big puppy with a bunch of energy! Hayden just turned 2 and he still acts like a puppy and will play bite every now and then. The dog probably was trying to get the kids attention and considered it a bite. I too wonder how the dog got in with no one noticing ... Seems like a lot of missing pieces to this story. I hope a rescue can step in!

I agree, if the folk would had been exercising the dog like husky owners are supposed to do, maybe he wouldn't be a Houdini as much. And its just like what my step dad dose, my dog nipped at him and he screamed she was attacking him! Now hes got the family (his mom and brother and my moms dad) scared to death of her! He also tried telling this crap to friends and folk around where we live, thank God we haven't gotten a notice yet.

Is he not at the Weld County Humane Society (per the news article)? Their website only has 1 address listed. Maybe they move them to a different shelter once they capture and process them? Not sure. Hope you can help him though!

Wow. What brilliant "owners". Poor dog. He looks so adorable too!

So since they have a court case in December, does that mean the dog will have to stay at the shelter until then, or can he be taken in by a rescue before then??

More than likely the dog will have to stay at the shelter. Hopefully a judge won't order him to be euthanized Sad

Hopefully the judge will see it as a different scenario given they said the child was ok.

It is kind of amazing how many dog owners don't exercise their dogs or just put them in the backyard to visit them occassionally.
