1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Haha that might've been my bad... I said "finally got my hands on it" because I've always been interested in trying it out for my boy's separation anxiety, but it's really hard to find in Canada! Or at least where I am anyways. From the research that I did, I can only get it from my vet... even though it's not even a dog-only thing! I ended up ordering it online from a Canadian retailer that sells other all natural things. I just saw it one day while I was ordering some other things, and thought, why not!

His anxiety is pretty under control lately, and i've only been putting 2 drops in his water so i have no clue whether it's helping or not.

Now that i think about it... i probably should have tried an all natural health store haha. I only heard it once i started looking into separation anxiety, and it just never occurred to me to look outside of a pet store haha. Silly me.

Oh I see. Smile No, it's easy to find here. A lot of pet stores carry it, and I ordered it from amazon.

Yup that's the difference. I couldn't find the one for pets. But i read that it's ok to use the regular human one. We'll see. It's not making a huge difference anyways. It's almost like peace of mind for me right now haha. It's not getting worse though so i guess that is still something.

Dizzy's Scrapbook

It hasn't been updated in a while. I guess I should do that sometime in my "free time." Ha! What's that?

Hi Jen!! Sorry to hi-jack this older topic but I have a question about rescue remedy:

Anya was spayed on Monday (3/31) and has to be confined to the kennel all day when we're at work and has to stay calm for 2 whole weeks because of her slightly more invasive ovary-sparing spay. I picked up a bottle of Rescue Remedy (for humans) at the Vitamin Shoppe.

I'm wondering how you administered it and how often? I gave her 4 drops on her beef stew meat this morning and it seemed to work...

I would usually give it 2-3 times a day and would drip it onto a piece of freeze dried liver. He actually seemed to like it though and would lick it off the floor if I accidently dripped some. After a certain point though, it won't work well, not that it loses effectiveness, but just that the husky drive takes over. I would say for him, it worked for 3-4 days. Although I didn't attempt to increase his dose at that time so it may have worked better if I had. Honestly the cone seemed to be the thing that kept him the most calm because he was uncomfortable moving around in it and he couldn't see out of the sides. I got him a comfy cone and they are opaque.
