Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hello all~ We are getting a pup next month. He's a gorgeous male with one blue eye and one brown eye. His face is beautiful so we did not mind the fact that his eyes did not match. Is it weird or really unusual or does it mean anything? I had to ask Smile They say, there are no dumb questions.......
Thanks!

Nope - there are a lot of huskies with bi-eyes. Smile Either way, I'm sure he's a gem - welcome and I can't wait for pictures! Smile

Please please please dont get upset with me for saying this. Im honestly not trying to be rude. But for the next month please use your time to do a ton of research on this breed. It makes me nervous that you might not know what to expect, because you didnt know if bi eyed was common. Huskys are a very different breed of dog and a lot of people are shocked when they dont do their research. So please pick our brains here, read through the forum, do some research on the internet, and even get the book "huskies for dummies" i never read it but everyone says how helpful it is!!!! Please post pix if you have any also!!!!

Eric, you wrote the words I would have.
Welcome bluesky96 if your profile info is correct I see your not a young kid, do you have children in the home that will enjoy this puppy as well? The best thing any new husky owner can do is educated themselves on what to expect when becoming a new husky owner. As eric said read, read read, go pick up the dummies book its great, I have read it. Spend as much time on this forum as you can. Start by reading all the stickies at the top of each section. Where do you live ? Look up a local husky rescue and see if they can help answer any questions, go to Facebook and look up your local husky huddle malamute mingle and starting talking with them. The best thing you can do is become informed so this puppy will be with you for life and not end up in a shelter or rescue.  Most of all never let them off leash outside a fenced area, never shave them and get him microchiped.
Oh and welcome, glad u found us

A husky can also have one eye with two different colors. My Maya has a blue eye and a blue on top brown on bottom eye.

Welcome! Owning a husky is one of the best decisions I've made, but yes I agree, do your research. Huskies are very different from other breeds.
I'm very excited for you, I've only had mine since August and I already want a second!

Ha ha. My boy is turning 1 tomorrow and I definitely have the puppy fever, but we won't be getting a second for a while.

Yes, welcome to the husky world Bluesky96, you're in for a wild ride.
