Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Okay so it isn't the "first snow" but it is the first snow that stuck...and we are expecting a couple more inches!

Okami doesn't seem to mind...

Sorry that this is may be terribly boring, all she wanted to do was eat it... and of course when I stopped recording she started to play.... can't win with this furr brains ever.

Let the games begin bounce

I see Okami likes to eat the snow as much as Ami, drives me nuts only because he stops drinking water once the snow arrives...

I could never get Okami to stop drinking water... she thinks water is the best thing ever.. I think she would actually prefer it over treats during trick time. But yeah, getting her to play outside in the snow is a feat.. loves loves loves to just eat it >.< lol

We got around 4 inches here for our first snow and it all stuck. My two love to run in it on day one, but are totally over it now. Kenzi gets a big mouthful of snow first thing when she goes out the back door.

The weather service threatened us with flurries over the weekend and as a desert rat who loves his heat this has gone on long enough and the winter's barely started!
Sasha didn't see the snow two years ago but Avalanche did; after his initial "What's this stuff?" he'd had enough and wanted back in where it's warm! (He's also the idiot dog who'll lay out in the driveway when the temps pushing 100f!)

We did get that snow Al, lol, it was a dusting Sunday night and was there until the early afternoon Monday, too little for Miya to notice, although it's been super cold here, Miya's pool has some major ice, which she breaks up in the morning, pulls a big chunk out and proceeds to chew as if it were a bone. It's an early start for extreme cold and snow here.

Wow never heard of a husky that ran from the snow! That is surprising!

Avalanche is my Alaskan Husky and he's got a German Shepherd style coat - like me, he'd much prefer that the temp be in the 90+ range. (He's also the one I call my idiot teenager - I get the feeling that he's going to be a perpetual puppy!! But he's really an excellent companion.)
