I would get her a good nose balm if it's dry and maybe see a vet if it spreads more, she also looks like she has snow nose so I'm not sure if it's from that as well (which is totally normal and nothing to worry about)

Have you changed food, bowls, shampoo, etc. recently? It is possible that it could be a zinc deficiency but we would want to rule out allergic reactions first to something that might have changed like a toy or getting a new plastic drinking dish or food dish. Has he been boarded recently? What food do you feed (not sure if you've covered that in a different thread)? I believe coconut oil is a good supplement that could help if it is a zinc issue. _________________

I don't really know what zinc deficiency looks like in a Siberian, but I know it's really common. I would try Twister's suggestions and see if that fixes the problem.

No changes to bowls, he uses metal bowls. No change to food, he's on Orijen puppy as recommended by his vet. No boarding either. I rubbed a little coconut oil on his nose last night but he licked it off. When u say supplement do u mean I should add some to his food?

Orijen is a really great food. I wouldn't think it would be lacking in zinc but I haven't done very much food breakdown analysis. Renee has done much more. As for the supplement, yes, you would be adding it to the food. Start with small amounts, around 1/4-1/2 teaspoon a day, and work up to around 1 teaspoon a day or every other day. Keep track of pooping as too much too quick can loosen stools. You could also go the fish oil route (easier, less mess IMO) and just buy the fish oil capsules. I do this with my girl. She gets one fish oil caplet a day with one caplet of Vitamin E every other day. _________________

I like Jenn's idea, Orijen is an exceptional food, well balanced, and being made in Canada, and with the high protein, imo, they think of working dogs when formulating their food. So zinc shouldn't be an issue. Atm, I would agree possible allergy, or dry skin to weather changes. You can go to the vet and ask, they would have to do skin scraping to determine zinc deficiency, and sometimes it is not food related, fyi, zinc issues is more common with the husky, but it is more often failure to absorb zinc properly vs food deficiency of zinc. There are a few threads around the forum concerning zinc deficiency and some home made treatments, however, too much zinc is almost as bad as too little. So if you notice the redness forming near his eyes, or no change in the nose area after a week or two, I would go see the vet.
