| Ahhh my husky is not such a baby anymore. She’s 6 months old today and a whopping 42 pounds. A lot bigger then I expected her parents were on the smaller end. My guess she only has a few more pounds on her. How much more would you guess she would grow? Also did anyone else start running with there husky at this age? We normally walk about 2 miles most days but I haven’t started running with her yet. Should I still hold off on that I know some people say to wait even over a year but everyone and every vet has a different opinion. |

| You need to hold off on structured running until the growth plates on the legs close. There are bumps on his front legs where the growth plates are at. Once they close those bumps will go away. It looks like they are still open in your pictures so I would hold off.
Some dogs grow hard and fast early and some are slow and don't do the mass of their growing until late. Each line is a little different. He might not get much taller but will do some filling out. I would imagine you will see him around 50-60 pounds. _________________ |

| That’s what I thought that’s why I haven’t started running with her yet. I just know so many people who say yes at 6 months and then others say no. I wanted opinion from other husky owners. Wait are those bumps normal? Or is that a problem? Yeah she’s already weights more then her mom so she’s definitely gonna be a big girl! |

Wait are those bumps normal? Or is that a problem? Let's make sure we're talking about the same thing. "Those bumps" that are about 3 inches above her foot are the bone ends - but also where the shank bone grows from. Until those close off or seal, they're tender and apt to be damaged by continued forced running. Note that any amount of running that she desire to do around your back yard or an enclosed tennis court, for examples, is pretty much okay - as long as she has the choice to stop when she gets 'pooped.' So, those bumps are completely normal and well go away when she stops growing up... _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Okay, good I got nervous she’s my first husky let alone bigger dog. I’ve had shibas the past 10 years. Yeah I don’t ever force her to run she does that on her own. Thank you guys |
