We are finally done moving and everything is set up at the new house. The boyfriend is adjusting fine, but its a big change for me and the girls. I'm not a fan of big cities, and while the Quad Cities are not super huge, its way bigger than what I'm use to! The house is ok, but the yard is really small. It has been way hotter here compared to what we were use to living in Wisconsin. Luka doesn't want to go outside! No good dog supply stores and no holistic vets I think we may be done dogsledding too, or if we do any it wont be often, no good training areas or trails here. Hopefully we will find a place to skijor. I have so many posts to catch up on! Really missed being away for almost three weeks! Going to be slow going, don't have the internet yet on my computer, just using my phone. Can't wait until September when I get my financial aid check! Not fun being poor right now, but I'm glad I'm finally gong to grad school. Only really fun thing we have done in the past weeks was have some friends visit us from Arizona. They brought their husky Togo and their Klee Kai Zero with them. All four dogs had a blast running around our empty house right before we headed out of town. I have pics, and will post them eventuality! Glad to be back!

Going to grad school. Getting a masters in zoo and aquarium management. The position I just left was similar, but I only worked with domestic animals. I was the supervisor of an animal care facility at a university. But I've always wanted to work with non domestic animals. I did an internship at a zoo as an undergrad and loved it. Should be done in two to three years. I'm sure things will seem better once classes start and once it cools down. Weather is suppose to be a bit better the rest of the week. I'll have to go out and find some local huskies to stalk.

Welcome back, we've missed you! Oh I can't wait to see pics of those Klee Kais! What size AKK's did they have and what were their temperament and personality like? I want a pair of Klee Kais next so I want to hear about as many individuals as I can beforehand. _________________

I think zero would be classified as a mini, he is under ten pounds. Togo is just a husky. Both dogs were rescues. They have done a lot of work to get Zero to where he is today. He was definitely not socialized as a pup. He still doesn't like to be held or pet, but tolerates it. He doesn't bark a bunch like other small dogs I know. He gets along with other dogs and cats, but isn't afraid to tell the big dogs when they are getting too rough. He is good off leash. He has come such a long way since they got him. Most people would have given up on a dog that they couldn't hold or pet. I think you would be a great AKK owner Val! If you can handle Chi's you can handle anything!

Thank you! We are so happy to have her. We've wanted a second for such a long time! Koda already loves her, though they are still trying to figure out how to safely play at 60lbs vs. 12lbs.. lol! And thanks, X-men for the win! |
