I've been easing into the THK Keen with Delilah, but it's making her poop ALL THE TIME. Literally every hour. Is this normal?

P.S. she is getting it WITH her kibble - Blue Buffalo.

It is normal to see an big increase in stool volume but not so much that she needs to go every hour. My sibe had a small BM once or twice a day on grain free kibbles like Evo whereas on THK exclusively he had 3 large BMs daily. On a mix of 3/4 lb THK and 1/4 cup grain free kibble we typically see 2 medium BMs per day.

How much HK is Delilah getting on a daily basis and how much kibble?

total - 1 cup THK and 2 cups kibble. She gets 1/2 cup with 1 cup of kibble each meal. I'm worried.

That seems like a lot of food. When my dogs were on kibble they only ate 2-2.5 cups daily

Kody eats 2 cups total daily and Mya 1 1/2 (sometimes 2). They get 1/2 cup THK and 1/2 cup kibble for breakfast and dinner. Or if I'm feeding them raw for dinner then they just get 1/2 cup THK & 1/2 cup kibble for breakfast.

They do tend to poop more and it's a lot more poop, but definitely not every hour. I'd say about 3-4 times daily....

How old is Delilah and how much does she weigh? That does seem like too much food unless she's a growing puppy or working dog. What kind of kibble are you feeding? I only ask to know if she's getting so much kibble because she's on a lower quality food.

My 52 lb adult male eats 1-1.25 lbs of THK a day when he eats that exclusively. When he ate grain free Evo kibble he ate 1.75 cups daily.

Well, I took her ot the vet, to be sure. She has a urinary tract infection. Sad but, She doesn't typically eat all of the kibble. She usually picks out the kibble thats covered in the thk and leaves the rest hahaha. so, she is probably getting 1 - 1/2 cups of it. ...the cats sometimes get lucky and get the rest Smile

That's a lot of food for her age and size. Even at 1.5 cups of kibble plus a cup of THK that adds up to an awful lot for an adult that small. I think she'd be fine at 1.5 cups of BB alone even. Is she a nice, healthy weight? I would cut her portion sizes down and see how she does. Maybe try cutting back to 1/4 cup of THK with 3/4 cups of kibble fed twice a day to start. I think she could probably do with less than that even but it's easier on the dog to cut back gradually.
