Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hi, everyone!

I have finally decided to stop lurking and join the forum. My name is April and my boyfriend and I are owned by 2 huskies and a papillon. The papillon, Lucky and Eshe the red husky are my boys and Eshe is currently 8 years old while Lucky is 13 years old. Odin is going to be 1 years old on the 24th of this month and he is Steve's husky.

We both love all of our furbabies but the huskies have a very special place in our hearts. We live in Saint Petersburg, Florida and would love to have a meetup with other husky owners whenever possible. I wish we could have made it camping. I look forward to getting to know everyone on the forum better. I have been lurking for almost a year and I'm glad I'm finally joining in.

Sara, I have heard about that group! I use to volunteer for the Siberian Husky Rescue in Seminole and the lady who use to run the rescue now runs that group (I'm not sure if she still runs the rescue). I never seem to make it to their meetups though due to our busy schedule Crying or Very sad We're normally meeting other huskies at a local Saturday market in Saint Pete, or at the local dog parks first thing in the morning on the weekends or later in the evenings on the weekdays.

I'm going to try harder to meet up with them though since they practice the dogs on pulling a sled and I definitely want to do that with the boys.

I'm in St Pete also. I was just at the Sandy Paws meet up today. Not a good turn out though think it was due to the threat of rain. Next weekend on Sunday is the Husky Olympics that the Siberian Husky Rescue is doing at Lake Seminole Park. There will be tons of huskies. I will have my 2 sibes and a GSD with me.
